Potted Plants

Nothing says summer quite like an arrangement of flowers right at your front door. Large flower pots make for great curb appeal, but they can sometimes be a bit pricey and hard to carry. Lucky for you, you can get that aged stone look with plastic planters and some paint, making these planters easy on your wallet and your back!

How siding can increase the value of your home

Re-siding your home is a great way to increase the value of your home for a relatively low cost. Siding replacement is one of the projects that saw an increase in its cost-value ratio in the 2015 Cost vs. Value Report, with vinyl siding replacement gaining 5.2 percent.

What that means for you is that you get a high return on your investment when you choose to re-side your home. From looking fresh to saving energy, new siding is a great value for homeowners, whether they’re looking to stay or to sell.

It looks brand new.

First impressions are important in the housing market. Part of the value of new siding is that it heightens curb appeal by giving your whole home a facelift. Replacement siding can make a home look brand new, and that adds loads of value for homes going on the market. When prospective buyers are searching for homes, a house wrapped in new siding will outshine—and out-value—one with a faded exterior that appears to need repair.

It increases efficiency.

New siding provides the opportunity to invest in energy efficiency. Old, damaged siding could be leaking air from your home, allowing moisture to seep in or breeding mold. When your new siding is installed correctly (by the professionals at Tri-State, for example), air leaks are blocked, condensation can be reduced and mold can be prevented. Especially with insulated siding styles, siding replacement increases the efficiency of your home’s heating and air systems, which saves money in utility costs.

It endures.

Vinyl siding is tough, durable and low maintenance, making it a great investment when it comes to re-siding your home. Vinyl siding doesn’t rot, and it resists fading from the elements. That means home buyers have the peace of mind of knowing they wouldn’t need to replace siding anytime soon, another aspect of re-siding that adds overall value to your home.

Whether selling or staying, replacing your siding is a great option in today’s housing market to increase the value of your home, update its look and increase its efficiency for many years. The time for re-siding is now, and Tri-State is available to help choose and professionally replace your siding! Visit our website today for a free estimate, and take that step toward increasing your home’s value with our high-performance siding options.

Ugly Roof Winner Makeover Reveal

The Tri-State Windows, Siding & Roofing crew and I set out to find the ugliest roof in the Tri-State area. We invited our Facebook fans to enter pictures of their ugly “eyesore” of a roof with the promise that the ugliest of the ugly would win a free makeover.

As the entrees started rolling in, we quickly realized the competition would be steep.

Two weeks, 20 entries and 1,332 votes later, Rock Island residents Christopher and Sara Davis came out the victors – winning at 488 votes.

“When we first moved into our house 10 years ago, the roof had already been three layers for some time,” said Sara Davis. “It was amazing to have the opportunity to win something of this caliber.”

Scoring 2,000 square feet of beautiful, GAF Timberline HD shingles in the color Weathered Wood, Davis admitted she and her husband weren’t the only ones on their street to notice how terribly ugly their roof was.

“Our next door neighbor even made us a Facebook group that got people all over the country voting for us,” said Davis laughing. “Texas, Hawaii, everywhere. It really helped us to win.”

The Davis’ were very pleased with the work Tri-State Windows, Siding & Roofing performed. They were also impressed by how quickly the job was completed and the clean up job by the crew.

“My roof looks fantastic,” said Davis. “They were very professional, answered all of my questions promptly and followed through with everything they promised.”

Compliments like that never get old, folks!

Thanks for tuning in, until next time –

Blown-In Insulation

Winter is around the corner, and we squirrels aren’t the only ones who have to prepare for the colder weather! And seeing as you folks aren’t as gifted at growing thick fur coats as I am (although I do know some of the Tri-State crew to be an exception) I have an even better idea on how to stay warm!

Blown-In Insulation is a GREAT way to help keep your family warm and cozy in the coming months. Read on for my list of the Top 5 Benefits to Blown-In Insulation.

1. It’s Adjustable:

R-Value is the number signifying the strength of your Blown-In Insulation. Depending on the type of room, age of your home and region of the country you reside, the recommended value differs. With Blown-In Insulation, it is simple to adjust this value according to your individual needs!

2. Made of virgin materials:

Folks prone to allergies, perk up your ears. Blown-In Insulation is made of hypoallergenic material resistant to the fungus and mold often found on other forms of insulation. Breathe happy, my friends.

3. Tighter fit and seal:

The Blown-In technique allows for a tighter fit and seal in the crevices between the beams and wiring throughout your home. In other words, Blown-In Insulation cuts down on air leaks and keeps your energy costs down.

4. Fast and clean:

In comparison to other methods of insulation installation, the job itself can be completed far more quickly, and produce much less dust.

5. Extremely energy efficient:

Perhaps the greatest advantage Blown-In Insulation has over its competitors is it never settles. In other words, the big fluffy insulation you buy now will look the same a decade from now – forever maintaining its initial R-value. This makes it extremely energy efficient and cost efficient for you.
